Notes

Can They Be Reheated?
These can definitely be reheated. I recommend freezing them if you are not eating them immediately for best reheating results.
Can They Be Frozen? Freezer Tips
To retain their shape as much as possible, place them in the freezer right after cooking them. I usually place the pan in the freezer for about 10 minutes with the waffles spread out evenly to help them retain their shape.
Then you can wrap them individually with foil, then place them in a freezer food storage bag or freezer friendly container that has a cover. This prevents them from sticking together in the freezer and allows you to do easy reheating straight from the freezer to the oven. They can stay in the freezer for up to three months.
Reheating Tips
When reheating, place the wrapped waffle on a baking sheet, open the foil and place the pan in a preheated 350 degrees oven. Heat for about five minutes they are until heated through.
For More Sweetness
Add an extra ½ tablespoon to make them slightly sweeter. I personally do not like to add more sugar than what they recipe calls for because the syrup adds more sweetness.
Using Frozen Blueberries
If using frozen fruit, don't let the frozen fruit thaw. The thawed fruit will stain the batter.
Avoid Overmixing Batter
Do not overmix the batter. Mix the batter just until all the ingredients are incorporated. Over mixing the batter will makes the waffles tough and chewy.
Room Temperature Ingredients
Just as you would with baking recipes, use room temperature eggs, buttermilk and ricotta cheese for this recipe. Sally from Sally’s Baking addiction explains that this will help make a smoother batter, which improves the texture of the baked product.
