Steaks with Bourbon Cream Mushroom Sauce

Steaks with bourbon cream mushroom sauce.  The steak of all steaks!  A fine dining experience without the fine dining bill.  Make this at home and save that money for a nice purse....



– thick steaks of your choice – sliced baby portobello mushrooms – garlic cloves – butter – fresh sage – Bourbon liquor – heavy cream – olive oil – dry white wine – salt – black pepper



StepS 1-3

– Season each steak with salt and pepper. Let the steaks sit and rest. – Heat olive oil in a large pan. – Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan. Cook the mushrooms. Drain the mushrooms, and set them aside.

StepS 4-7

– In a pan, heat the butter and olive oil in a pan. – Add the garlic and sage to the heated olive oil and butter. Cook the garlic and sage. – Add the heavy cream, mushrooms, and bourbon to the garlic sage mixture. – Cook the cream sauce until the sauce reduces.

Steps 8-11

– Add Bourbon and white wine to the sauce. – Salt and pepper the cream sauce to taste. Set the sauce aside. – Cook steaks to desired doneness. Let the steaks rest after cooking. – Top the steaks with the cream sauce before serving.
